French-speaking children in Dutch- or English-medium immersion schooling are still expected to take their end-of-primary-school examinations in French, despite not necessarily knowing the correct French terminology for notions of geometry, history or geography they were taught in Dutch. Teachers’ suggestions to allow for CEB exams in the immersion language are met with positivity by Rudy Demotte, Minister-President of the French Community of Belgium, yet cannot be realized under the current budgetary circumstances.
